2015 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro Series
I’ve been patiently awaiting the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the 2015 4Runner TRD Pro Series and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This might be my favorite Toyota creation in the past few years and my favorite 4TRunner ever made. It’s incredibly elegant, for being such a monster. It’s an intimidating vehicle, perched atop its black 17-inch wheels and knobby 31.5-inch, P265/70R-17 Nitto Terra Grappler tires. You really feel like you’re climbing into a trophy truck, but once inside you discover how truly elegant this vehicle is.
Interior: The 4Runner TRD Pro offers a next-level cabin with its red-stitched SofTex seats and advanced Entune Premium Audio system. Its TRD Pro carpet floor mats can take a beating, and the leather-wrapped TRD Pro shift knob offers superior comfort and durability. And with a sliding rear cargo deck that can support up to 440 lbs., 4Runner is ready to help you explore the world.
Performance: 4Runner TRD Pro packs a powerful 4.0-liter, 270-horsepower V6 that gives you the power you need to crawl over unforgiving terrain. Standard Multi-terrain Select, Crawl Control and an electronic locking rear differential help give the traction you need to power through the tough stuff too.
Suspension: With its TRD-tuned suspension, 4Runner TRD Pro can help you deal with the trail ahead. Up front sits a TRD-tuned 2.5-in. TRD Bilstein® coil-over-shock setup matched to TRD-tuned springs for a 1-in. lift in ride height. The rear gets 2-in. TRD remote-reservoir Bilstein® shocks to help give you the extra wheel travel and control needed to conquer almost any extreme surface.
Exterior: 4Runner TRD Pro looks all business with black badging, black-bezel headlights and a bold front grille. A 1/4-in. TRD-stamped aluminum front skid plate helps toughen things up underneath, and the lightweight 17-in. matte-black TRD alloy wheels are wrapped in 31.5-in. Nitto Terra Grappler all-terrain tires for maximum traction on road or off.
Capability: The trail may get rough, but 4Runner TRD Pro knows no fear. With its ¼-in. TRD-stamped aluminum front skid plate bolted up front, crucial underside components are being protected from the rigors of off-road exploration. And with off-road tech like standard Multi-terrain Select, you can choose from four modes designed to regulate wheelspin by adjusting the engine throttle setting and braking pressure to provide you with maximum traction on various off-road situations.
I highly recommend checking it out and taking it for a test drive. You won’t be disappointed.
