Food: Chew it

I just realized that digestion starts in the mouth. If I skip that process, I only get a fraction of the nutritional value of my food. I really never gave it much thought, that was until I saw our new juicer in action. Two things came to mind: 1. Most of the nutrients of vegetables and fruits are efficiently turned into juice, discarding a large majority of the actual fruit or veggie as “waste.” But to actually see the juice, the nutrients, was astounding. Queen of the Angels

Did you know that Los Angeles was originally named: El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles del Río de Porciúncula [The Town of Our Lady the Queen of the Angels on the Porciúncula River]. Señor Tequila – WTF

So, here is my recap of our Señor Tequila outing: You can’t enjoy snow day – fun day without a quality Mexican lunch in your belly. My friend and Tulsa neighbor Chris Dodge opened up a burger joint a few weeks ago and it is incredible. By far the best burger spot east of the Los Angeles river. Imagine if Fat Burger and Five Guys had an illegitimate child and that child moved to Tulsa, then imagine that child figured out how to be even better… That is Fat Guy’s. We went for lunch a few weeks back and I was thoroughly impressed with both the food and the restaurant’s interior. Top notch all around. The... Read The Rest →

7 days later

I can’t believe my last post was seven days ago, sorry about that friends. But I have been out of town. Last week my wonderful Rebecca took me on a surprise trip to Dallas. It was a nice little getaway filled with fun surprises. My favorite surprise took place on the first night when we arrived at Phrough and Kyle’s new loft. My old friend Yun, from International School Manila, was there cooking some incredible Korean BBQ! [photos 2-5] Other photos include: Hotel lobby ceiling, Mexican train – my favorite...
